Sound files help players know when things happen in the game. IRC clients used on a PC have sound support. See your IRC client for more details. mIRC requires the WAV files linked below to be in a certain directory in order to hear them. As for Android, web browser, and even Apple products; it's unknown how sounds work, let alone if they work.

To download the sound files, right-click the links below and select Save As... or something similar. Next, save the sound files to the directory where the IRC client is. There may be a subdirectory called "sounds" or something similar.

• "Let's Get Ready to Rumble" by Michael Buffer -- This clip plays when the game starts. I forget who sent it to me.
• Donation of Sound Files: Kiwi_. Lost contact with him, so his nickname is no longer in use.
• Fanfare is from Microsoft Golf. (This is the expiring of puzzle and game clock.)
• Sound files courtesy of freesound.org: short applause by xtrgamr, and longer applause by landub.
• Buzzer is used when a clock expires, usually when asking a question or prompting a player. (I forgot to write down where on freesound.org I got the file.)
• Ambient Loop from bebeto at freesound.org: used when asking a question.
• Gong Sound from FunnyMan374 at freesound.org.

I do not talk about the questions with anyone that I feel may end up playing the game, especially my wife, whose name won't appear here for privacy reasons.

Mailing Lists

There are two mailing lists: newsletter and notify. They're separate just in case a person only wants one. The newsletter contains a summary of the game, the scores of everyone who played, corrections to scores, updates to the game, and a high score list. The notify list announces the time for the next game. Due to email sending quotas, the host will send the three random questions two days before the game session. Answering these three questions before the game officially starts will earn points.

Privacy Policy

There is no sharing of any information gathered with anyone, especially advertising networks. This site has no advertisements.

This site gathers the following information:

• IP addresses of visitors, the web pages they visited, the websites they came from, the browsers they used, and their country of origin
• Email addresses
• Email statistics: bounces, forwards, views, and clicks

The host uses visitor information for statistical purposes only, email addresses only for sending emails to subscribers of the mailing list, and email statistics to track who views those emails.

If anyone objects to the gathering of this information, please stop visiting this website and possibly the entire Internet.
